Allow the plancha, adapter and fire pit to cool completely before handling or cleaning. After each use, remove food residue from the cast-iron surface with a suitable scraper or brush, then wipe clean using minimal water and dry immediately and thoroughly to help prevent rust. Avoid prolonged soaking, dishwashers, harsh detergents, steel wool and aggressive chemicals. Once dry, apply a very thin layer of suitable cooking oil to the cast iron to help maintain its seasoning and protective surface. Clean the stainless-steel adapter with a soft cloth, warm water and mild detergent, then rinse and dry thoroughly, avoiding chlorine-based or abrasive cleaners. Remove grease and residue regularly from all contact areas and inspect the components before use for damage, corrosion or excessive build-up. Store the plancha and adapter completely clean and dry in a sheltered location, protecting the cast iron particularly carefully from rain and prolonged humidity.
