Allow the plancha, adapter and fire pit to cool completely before handling or cleaning. After each cooking session, scrape away food and grease residue from the cast-iron surface with a suitable non-damaging scraper or brush while following normal cast-iron care practices. Use minimal warm water when necessary and dry the plancha immediately and thoroughly to prevent moisture-related corrosion; do not soak it or place it in a dishwasher. Once dry, apply a very thin, even layer of suitable cooking oil to the cast iron to help preserve its seasoning and protective surface. Avoid harsh detergents, oven cleaners, steel wool and aggressive chemicals. Clean the stainless-steel adapter with a soft cloth or sponge, mild soap and warm water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Regularly remove grease and carbon deposits from contact areas and inspect both components before use for excessive residue, corrosion or damage. Store completely clean and dry in a sheltered location, with particular attention to protecting the cast iron from rain and prolonged humidity.
