Allow the appliance and cooking surface to cool sufficiently and shut off the gas supply before cleaning or maintenance. After each use, remove grease and food residue from the plancha while it is still slightly warm using a suitable non-abrasive scraper, then clean according to the surface material requirements and wipe thoroughly dry to prevent moisture from remaining on the cooking area. Clean the exterior and control panel with a soft damp cloth and mild detergent, avoiding excessive water around knobs, ignition components and gas connections. Do not use steel wool, aggressive chemicals, bleach, oven cleaners or abrasive tools that could scratch or damage the finish. Empty and clean grease collection areas regularly to prevent excessive build-up. Keep burner openings clear and periodically inspect the burners, ignition system, gas hose, regulator and connections for blockage, wear, leaks or visible damage; discontinue use if any gas component appears compromised.
