Prepare tender meats, delicate seafood, fresh fish, and vegetables with exceptional precision using the Kamado Joe Big Joe Half-Moon Soapstone Cooking Surface, designed to deliver outstanding heat retention and consistent cooking performance on large ceramic grills. Crafted from premium natural soapstone, this cooking surface distributes heat evenly across the entire grilling area, allowing food to cook gently while preserving its natural moisture, texture, and flavour. The naturally smooth, non-stick surface helps prevent delicate ingredients from sticking or breaking apart, making it ideal for foods that require careful handling. Soapstone naturally absorbs excess salty meat juices during cooking, enhancing flavour while producing richer, juicier results. Its antibacterial and stain-resistant properties contribute to a cleaner cooking environment and help reduce the risk of cross-contamination between different foods. The dense soapstone construction also minimises flare-ups and excessive smoke caused by dripping fats and oils, providing greater temperature control, preventing food from burning, and ensuring a cleaner, more enjoyable grilling experience. Designed in the signature Half-Moon format for large ceramic grills, it installs and removes easily, making it an essential accessory for expanding the versatility and cooking performance of your Kamado grill. Technical Specifications: Natural soapstone construction, naturally non-stick surface, antibacterial and stain-resistant properties, exceptional heat retention, even heat distribution, reduces flare-ups and excessive smoke, easy installation and removal, Half-Moon design. Compatibility: Compatible with the Kamado Joe Big Joe Series, XL Big Green Egg, and other round 61 cm charcoal grills.
Allow the soapstone to cool naturally before cleaning and never expose a hot stone to cold water, as sudden temperature changes may cause cracking. Clean the surface using warm water and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge, avoiding detergents whenever possible since natural soapstone is porous. Remove stubborn food residue with a plastic scraper and allow the stone to dry completely before storing or using it again. Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleaners, or harsh chemicals that may damage the surface. Handle the soapstone carefully to prevent impacts or accidental drops, and always store it on a flat, dry surface to maximise its durability and long-term performance.
