Allow the appliance, lid and cooking surfaces to cool sufficiently and shut off the gas supply before cleaning or maintenance. After each use, remove grease and food residue from the cooking surfaces with a suitable non-abrasive scraper or brush and clean according to the requirements of the surface material, drying thoroughly afterwards to prevent retained moisture. Wipe the lid, exterior, metallic trim, control panel and accessible surfaces with a soft damp cloth and mild detergent, avoiding excessive water around the display, illuminated controls, ignition system and gas components. Empty and clean grease collection areas regularly to prevent excessive build-up and flare-ups, and keep burner openings free from food deposits without using sharp objects that could damage them. Do not use steel wool, abrasive pads, oven cleaners, bleach, solvents or aggressive chemicals. Periodically inspect the burners, ignition system, gas hose, regulator and connections for blockage, wear, leaks or visible damage and discontinue use if any gas component appears compromised. Once completely cool, clean and dry, close the lid and protect the appliance with a suitable cover, keeping it sheltered from prolonged rain, humidity and harsh weather conditions.
